Regional Festival Series

Music for Youth's annual Regional Festival Series provides free and open access to live music-making opportunities for the maximum number of children, regardless of their abilities or performance standards.

The Music for Youth Regional Festivals provide thousands of young music-makers with nationwide access to live performance opportunities. There are no fees or entry requirements and categories range from pop to classical.

For many young musicians these regionally based festivals represent a unique opportunity to take part in an artistic ‘alliance' with others of their own age and perform live in front of new audiences. Musical experts are also on hand to encourage, celebrate and contribute advice on their performances.

How to Take Part

Entries are invited at the beginning of each new academic year. Entries for 2009, via the online entry form, are open from 22 September 2008 until Monday 15 December 2008. Please note groups will be included on a first-come, first-served basis. When you have read the guidelines and decided the category you wish to enter you can choose to attend one of sixty regional events or submit a recorded entry. Once you have submitted your entry, Music for Youth will process your details and be in touch with you in the new year. Groups unable to attend a Regional Festival may submit a recorded entry.
