Music for Youth is an educational charity with a worldwide reputation for its work in music education. It provides free access to educational and performance opportunities for all kinds of groups of young musicians and audiences through a nationwide series of festivals and concerts.
100,000 young music makers and audience take part in our festivals and concerts
every year Two million children, aged from four to twenty-one, have taken part
in Music for Youth since 1971.
The Music for Youth year comprises four major events: the Regional Festival
Series, the National Festival, the Schools Proms and the Primary Proms.

MFY FRIDAY, 12 JUNE 2009 ExCeL LONDON
MFY Friday is Education Day at the London International Music Show (LIMS) - THE opportunity to learn something new, to be inspired and to engage with the music industry.
LIMS BiG BaND Four chords, a funky groove and a big tune played on soaring strings.
The LIMS BiG BaND will be BiG - up to a thousand young musicians, teachers, parents and LIMS exhibitors playing guitars, flutes, keyboards, percussion, violins, singers, tabla and everything in between will come together to rehearse and perform the LIMS anthem.
We need you! We’re looking for 20 Drummers, 200 Hand Percussionists, 100 Djembes/Congas, 200 Orchestral players, 50 world music players, 100 Keyboard players,100 Electric Guitarists, 50 Acoustic Guitarists, 30 Bass Players, 20 Beatboxers and 180 Singers.
LIMS BiG SiNG Supported by core members of the BiG BaND, up to 2,500 young voices (we said it was BiG!) will join together to sing the LIMS Anthem.
Primary, Secondary, College and University students together with their teachers can join together to make music and get caught up in the excitement of the day.
